Elevations, slope angles and aspects:

7500-10'200', slope angles over 35°. all aspects

Avalanche activity:

None observed

Slopes skied:

West Monitor, McDonalds and West Willow ridge

Snow conditions:

Several inches of very light density snow over a settled base.

Patchy crusts under the new in sun exposed. Some wind damage mostly along the ridges but, patches were also found mid slope, consisting of a thin wind crust.

Weather:

Cool temperatues with a breeze from the north of less than 15 mph. Overcast skies, occassional snow flurries.

Evaluation:

Snow in the area is mostly stable. No crack or collapsing. Pole probing and snow pits indicate only a few inches of faceted snow capped by a thick melt freeze crust. Recent storm totals less than the Cottonwods, resulting in limited natural avalanche activity.
